AJE Component of the Month - Melissa Meman

Today is the day for the Art Jewelry Elements Component of the Month Reveal!  This month, the lovely and talented Melissa Meman provided us with amazing pendants that she made; we had a choice of pendants, AND whether we wanted them with holes punched already or not.  I chose not, because I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do.

This is the pendant I chose.  When I received it, I knew what I wanted to do and punched the holes myself!

I had some discs already made from Bead Fest, and knew I wanted to make the pendant using those.  I also knew I wanted it to be a long necklace that had dangles as well!

I used Indonesian glass beads I already had and "titanium hematite" beads I picked up from Bead Fest to make the dangles.

As you'll notice, it's not quite finished!  I did not have any olive green Indonesian glass in my stash, so had to order it!  It's on it's way, hopefully soon, so I can finish the necklace.

When I do finish it, I'll post a photo so you can see.  I really like this necklace and thanks so much to Melissa for providing the Component of the Month this time!  Please visit Art Jewelry Elements blog today to see what our other members and guest designers did with their pieces - I'm sure they are all amazing!

Those are gorgeous colours to pair with the Morsel, Sue... your design is beautiful and really plays up Melissa's component (so jealous of your photo skills, too!)

Such pretty colors Miss Sue! I love those flat saucer beads. And forgive me, but I thought those were earrings dangling. I hope you bought enough extra beads to make matching ones as they are super. Enjoy the day. Erin

It seems you and I received similar morsels and even punched them similar. However, your bright colors and simplicity of design end the similarities. And, it works out wonderfully! I can't wait to see it when it's all said and done. You always have such great vision.

Sue, this is a gorgeous necklace! Love that you added little charms to it and can't wait to see it with all of them attached. THank you so much for agreeing to design a piece with my little component. Your beautiful necklace makes me happy!

This is a great necklace. Really love your design!
This simple colorway and design lets the component really shine. I adore disc beads - and I applaud your restraint in waiting to finish until you have just the right bead! I couldn't do it....impatient girl that I am.....:-)

I like the color triad. Have you found the right bead yet to complete the dangles? Sorry I was soooo late.

Bead Soup Blog Party!

Welcome to the 3rd Bead Soup Blog Party! What is a Bead Soup Blog Party? Each beader was paired up with another jewelry designer and tasked with sending the following: ~ A focal ~ A special clasp (not just a lobster claw) ~ Some coordinating spacers or beads Using the focal and the clasp was mandatory, but we could use anything from our own stash to round out the rest, and choose to use the coordinating beads or not. You may recall my partner was Margot Potter ; click this link to see the blog post I wrote of what she sent me! Here's what I made! Dangly earrings! Come see what the rest of us made! 1. The Tacky Earring Blog Hop

Diana Ptaszynski had a great idea, instead of a Tacky Christmas Sweater blog hop, a Tacky Holiday Earring blog hop! I was on it.  I had ideas right away.  I had so many I had to control myself.  You can buy these for $15 each, too!  Here we go! I found these awesome wreaths in the miniature Christmas section in Michaels, and they go perfectly with silver and copper colored plastic beads! These trees were found in Michaels, on an end-cap - I assume they are scrapbook or card making supplies, but make fantastic earrings.  The holes were a little small and far down, so I had to make LARGE loops.  Paired these with cute little gold colored jingle bells! And, finally, the ones I had in my head the moment she announced the blog hop.  Dr. Seuss sparkly puff balls with ribbons.  The only thing that would have made these better for me is if I could have found the red ribbons I really wanted to pair these with - don't get me wrong, the silver is cool and all, but in my head they w
